After a chilly but peaceful night after a lovely sunny day yesterday; the Rainbow Wood team settled down for a peaceful night…

But 4am cam around quickly, and a Welsh black cow started calving as Texel cross ewe started to lamb – all at the same time, of course!

After a bit of midwifery multitasking it was success all-round. The new bull calf came out with little trouble and the sheep comfortably produced 3 healthy lambs. But James noticed that she was still unsettled- amazingly, there was a fourth on the way!

With a bit of assistance from James, the first lambs of the season were successfully delivered as a team of quadruplets! -All are happy and healthy and mum is doing well, what a great start to another sunny day 🙂
