Welcome to the first Rainbow Wood Farm Blog! Here I am going to share with you, news and images from the farm as they arrive…
Be the first to see the newly born spring lambs, find out what’s new in the shop, B&B deals and what new delicious recipe we have in store from our own produce and much more. More importantly, the blog will delve you into the virtual world of the farm for a spot of rural escapism and a breath of fresh air.
Today, I am delighted to tell you that the lovely big ladies in the shed are fit to burst and expecting calves any day – and judging by the size of them, there are some big babies in there! We have a lovely mix of breads known for their natural nurturing temperament and good breading. The Mummies in the shed are Charolais, Belgian blues, Welsh blacks and Angus cross’s and they all are James’s girls who he treasure and have been mummies before.
He has a chat with them at least 5 times a day to keep an eye on their progress, waiting patiently to open the doors into the delivery suit – a secluded private pen in the corner of the shed where the ladies head off to have a first few days of nurturing her calf in peace:)
Watch this space- you will be the first to know when we have a new arrival. Bye for now and have a lovely weekend.
